THE PEARL SCHOLARS PROGRAM

The Pearl Foundation awards scholarships to college-bound students within the Long Beach, Carson, Compton, San Pedro, and Wilmington communities.  Our Pearl Scholars are provided networking opportunities to enhance their college experience, community service opportunities and assistance finding summer internships and employment.

The Pearl Foundation has awarded more than $150,000 to college-bound students.

Alaina Washington:

Attended Gahr High School, from Long Beach, has a 3.5 GPA, aspires to become a Speech Language Pathologist while continuing as an English Teacher for the Overseas Community Affairs Council. She currently attends Southern University A&M.

Cheyenne Pitcher:

Attended Archer School for Girls, from Compton, 3.62 GPA, major is pre-nursing, aspires to be a Labor/Delivery Nurse and currently attends Howard University.

Gabriela Molina:

Attended Jordan High School, from Long Beach, 3.6 GPA, major is business admin, aspires to be a lawyer and business owner, and currently attends University of Oregon.

Lolade "Lola" Obasade:

Attended CAMS High School, from Carson, 4.36 GPA, neuroscience major, aspires to be a Pediatric Oncologist and currently attends Yale University.

Madissyn Christmas:

Attended King Drew Magnet High School, from Hawthorne, 4.1 GPA, major is biology, aspires to be a Pediatric Physician, and currently attends Howard University.

Naomi Taylor:

Attended Long Beach Poly Tech High School, from Long Beach, 3.7 GPA, aspires to become a Pediatric Dentist, and currently attends Alabama A&M.

Nigel Cooper:

Attended St. Anthony HS, from Long Beach, 4.12 GPA, aspires to be a real estate investor, and currently attends Cal State Northridge.

Nijah Mendez:

Attended LA County HS for Arts, from Carson, 3.4 GPA, major is theater, aspires to be an actress, and currently attends Baldwin Wallace University.

Olivia Okoye:

Attended CAMS, from Carson, 3.9 GPA, major is computer science, aspires to be a Data Analyst/Data Scientist, and currently attends Yale University.

Zara Zaid:

Attended Long Beach Poly, from Long Beach, 3.9 GPA, major is public health/sociology, aspires to be a sports attorney, and currently attends UC Berkeley.
